23andMe
Admin
You can just order it in a fake name, no?
Admin
We ordered a kit but the name on the credit card does not match the given name (or even sex). No problems.

Promises are useless. The NSA will probably have your data if you use 23andme. If there isn't a secret law or court already granting this, there surely will be. If you are very private, use a fake name, get someone else to pay, use a proxy to log on to the site to download the genome.
Rick Rosner (IQ about 180: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_G._Rosner )has quickly accepted my offer to collaborate and he's gonna send me his genome (I don't know if he's taken then 23andMe test yet). But it'll be good to see how he fares compared to other genomes.
Can't you make a mini-site where I can upload my test and my IQ test?

Or cooperate with a site that already has the gene data? 23andme has some small tests on their site. They could maybe be persuaded to have an IQ test too?

Try writing to OpenSNP, they will let you store you genome. I don't think they have a g test, but perhaps they can be persuaded. The ICAR test is in the public domain, so it can be used without copyright trouble. Otherwise we can design one ourselves.

Yes I will make a website where people can upload their test and IQ test. No need to use OpenSNP, I'd rather keep my project separate. It's too difficult to get people to cooperate on this sort of research.

Try them before. Maybe they will agree. You can point to prestigious journals who publish research on this matter (e.g. Nature).

"Research Proposal
A study begins when 23andMe approves a researcher's scientific proposal. The proposal states the purpose of the research, why it is important and what the study will entail. 23andMe's internal and external review committees evaluate all proposals for scientific and ethical merit, as well as potential interest to the 23andMe community."

Ethical merit? They probably wrote these 2 words with 1 thing in mind. But can't you do some tests on 23andme while saying that you test for object perception or something like that? Or, placement of objects :-) . Well, ask them.

It's not as simple. I'd have to submit a formal research proposal, and the committee evaluates those only twice a year. It's a pretty long process...

I think I am gonna use OSF to store genomes. Just create an account there and I will give you permission to upload files or write content. http://osf.io
If you prefer I can update your genome for you but you'll have to tell me if you want it anonymised or not.
The free GWAS (Freewas) is still running. I've managed to collect 38 genomes, but need at least 60. So if you know any high IQ people who have taken 23andMe, please let me know. The genome can be sent directly to my email: pifferdavide@gmail.com
